THIS IS ME. I was born in Portsmouth, Virginia and raised in Tyner, North Carolina--the land of peanuts and cotton. Being an east coast flat lander who'd rather go barefoot than wear shoes, a favorite place of mine is watching waves break on the beach at the outer banks. I grew up in a southern baptist church and had parents who kept me involved in the church as a child and into my teen years.
   
When I was 7 years old, I attended a backyard bible club (an outreach to children in the area). My attention was absorbed by all of the balloons, face painting and puppet shows--living carefree as most 7 year olds do when I heard the good news message of Jesus Christ. For the first time in my life, it made sense even though I had heard it several times before. Jesus Christ died for me out of his love, grace and mercy. I knew there was something missing in my life, even at age 7 and it was the simple act of accepting the free gift of salvation through Jesus. God has done a great work in my life since that time, has grown my faith and dependence on Him, and has blessed me beyond anything I could have ever imagined.
Some of the things I'm most intrigued by are photographs and design, both of which have become passions of mine leading me to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree at Meredith College in Raleigh, NC in graphic design with a minor in photography.
